The exam is heavy on hardware and applications. Be familiar with config files and working around in the CLI. This exam is not very in-depth. If you have your A+, play around with Linux for a while and you should have no problems. It's more important to know which applications do what than to know how to use them.

Like most Comptia exams, Linux+ covers the basics and covers them well. Used the Sybex Linux+ book to study for XK0-002.

CompTIA recommends 12 months experience rather than 6 for the new exam. Most of the Linux+ cert books might help you fill in the gaps, but you are going to need some experience for the new exam. Linux+ is no longer a free lunch.

The exam was pretty much what I expected. I was surprised that detailed network configuration questions were presented. Also know how to setup a cron job. Other than that, know the basics and you should do well.

No trickiness in this test, just straightforward questions about the basics of Linux OS, hardware, and networking.

The recommended requirements of A+ I would say is optional, but 6 months+ experience is very useful. I have 3+ years Linux experience (server & desktop) and found most questions were based on day to day experience.

Passed the exam, wasn't too hard. Have 2 yrs. Linux experience and use it every day which helped a lot. Used the Linux+ Certification Bible, John Wiley and Sons, Trevor Kay, 2002. Could have passed without the book!

Untitled Document > Persistent Group Chat: An Approach for More Profitable Team Communications : Unlike email, instant messages (IMs) do not allow group communication; nor do they persist -- you can't hold on to them for as long as you wish. Persistent group chat, however, allows businesses to organize persistent dialogue around business-critical topics, and keep them for easy retrieval later.
